Terms of Service

These Terms of Service form an agreement between you and Citadel. By accessing the Citadel website, browser game, playtests, or related official services, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

If you do not agree, do not access or use the services.

You must be at least 13 to create an account or participate in Citadel. If you are below the age of legal majority where you live, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these terms for you.

You may not use Citadel if applicable law prohibits you from receiving the service.

Citadel is in active development. Features, balance, progression, availability, access requirements, content, and stored data may change or be reset without notice when reasonably necessary for development, testing, security, or service integrity.

Playtests may be interrupted, limited, modified, or discontinued. Feedback is welcome, but we are not required to implement it.

Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use Citadel for personal entertainment.

Citadel, its software, audiovisual material, names, logos, fictional setting, and other content are owned by or licensed to the operator. No ownership rights are transferred to you.

You are responsible for accurate account information, keeping credentials secure, and activity conducted through your account. Do not sell, transfer, share, or provide unauthorized access to an account.

Notify us at legal@thecitadel.com if you believe an account or credential has been compromised.

You must not interfere with other players, the service, or its development.

• Do not cheat, automate play, exploit bugs, manipulate clients or network traffic, or bypass technical restrictions.
• Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, defraud, dox, or target others with hateful or abusive conduct.
• Do not upload malware, probe infrastructure, disrupt availability, or attempt unauthorized access.
• Do not trade accounts, access, virtual items, or services for real-world value unless we expressly authorize it.
• Do not use Citadel for unlawful activity or infringement of another person’s rights.

You retain rights you already hold in content you submit. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, adapt, display, and distribute that content as reasonably necessary to operate, moderate, promote, and improve Citadel.

You represent that you have the necessary rights to submit the content. Suggestions and feedback may be used without compensation or obligation.

Accounts, ships, inventory, currencies, progression, and other virtual items are licensed service features, not personal property. They have no guaranteed monetary value and may be balanced, modified, reset, or removed as part of development or enforcement.

If paid products are introduced, applicable prices, refund rights, and purchase-specific terms will be shown before purchase.

Citadel may link to or rely on third-party services, including authentication, community, hosting, and social platforms. Their services and content are governed by their own terms and policies.

We may investigate suspected violations and restrict, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect players, the service, legal compliance, or development. Serious or repeated violations may result in permanent removal.

You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion where supported.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Citadel is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, preservation of early-access data, or that every feature will reach a final release.

Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator and its contributors will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of data, profits, goodwill, or opportunity arising from Citadel.

Mandatory rights and liabilities that cannot be limited under applicable law remain unaffected.

We may update these terms as the service changes. Material revisions will be posted with a new effective date. Questions may be sent to legal@thecitadel.com. Continued use after revised terms take effect constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
